One day in late April we took a hike to a fossil pit.  We had been there in the past and already knew that most of the fossils were long gone.  Lots of digging and dirty knees and butts and shoes still rewards us with small trinkets.  That day, I found my own kind of special treasure.  High on top of the fossil hill there is a thick stand of pine trees, shading lush moss patches and producing the most magical light.  We had our fun, we found our fossils, the girls looked for fairies, we picked flowers, and I made a huge mental note to bring some pretty little dresses the next time we go "fossil hunting".

Here is what I did at the fossil pit the next time we visited.
